Oh the things you will see: Port of Lost Wonder (Sentosa)

This place is ‘heaven’ on a very hot day!

It’s basically this huge water park for kids, not like those ones with the crazy slides for adults, this one is specifically friendly for kids and even toddlers, which is great! The water around the whole pool only goes up to your knees so your little one can splash around. (Bring swim diapers!) It’s a family friendly themed swim park where you can spend all day swimming or doing different activities.

They have food there and a little gift shop. I’ve been twice, but I haven’t actually gone into the gift shop so i’m not sure if you can get swim diapers in there.

It’s best to go on a weekday so that there aren’t a lot of people, and of course it’s cheaper. $10 per child (Adults are FREE! Woot!) They open at 10am, but as usual I love going in the afternoon so it’s not scorching! Although I did get sunburnt the last time because I was so busy applying and re-applying sunscreen on my son that I forgot to put any on myself! Parenting pssh.

The bathrooms are really clean (a bit wet of course) and there are showers with hot water. There is a baby changing room as well for those with wee ones. They also have lockers if you want a place to leave stuff. (FREE!)

There’s also a little are where the kids can play with these giant foam blocks and build things, even I enjoyed that part.

So they have different activities that go on throughout the day that your children can participate in, by using their “curios” which are given when you buy your ticket. They are “gold coins”, that are spendable inside the port. The last time I was there they were giving balloons for 1 or 2 coins (which is 10 or 20 curios).

Oh the things you will see: Chinese/Japanese Garden

I have lived in Singapore for 17 years. Yet this was my first time ever visiting the Chinese/Japanese gardens. I honestly didn’t even know they existed, and they are beautiful!

There is so much open space, and also there is a Live turtle and tortoise museum which my son loved! They have so many different turtles, and you can even feed them. There is an entrance fee, but it was only $5, so worth it,

The turtle museum is in the Chinese garden which is really close to the actual entrance of the whole place, so we went there last since it was on the way out. But if you choose to go as soon as you get there, turn right from the entrance.

When we arrived we turned left first, which led us to the Japanese garden, which is also really beautiful. I think I found it to be quite relaxing, despite having to chase the kiddo of course! But there is lots of shade, and little rest spots where you can stop and whip out your snacks or just sit and enjoy the breeze.

Getting there: Take the mrt to Chinese garden station, when you get out of the mrt turn left and you’ll see a huge grass area with a path which you will have to walk through to get to the entrance of the Chinese garden.

Bring your own food. There is a small stall at the entrance but mostly they just have drinks and chips!
